Sole Train

By Jadyn Baptista

Sole Train is a running program, for kids and adults. At M.C.A one of our activities are running and I am in it. One of our coach’s names is Jess and she said that she was one out of a lot of people who started the program. In May we are having our first race and we have been prating hard. In sole train you run around the neighborhood and you get to talk to your friends and have fun. Sole train helps you stay healthy, be in shape and to never give up and keep on going. They push you to do well in a good way though. I personally love Sole Train because I get to be with my friends and hang out with my coaches it is a lot of fun. On Thursday March 15, we made T-shirts for Sole Train with girls from Cross Country running group and they helped with our shorts. They say on top MCA then SOLE TRAIN then 2012. We are working on the back. Anyway Sole Train is lots of fun and of you are into running I think you should check it out and see if you like it.

Spring

By Chrisann Walker

Spring,

An amazing season

Flowers bloom,

Dandelions, roses, and tulips

The months are blissful,

March, April, May, and June

Day and nights are cool,

Gorgeous sunsets,

Blue skies at night

Spring,

A wonderful season

No dark clouds,

Loving people,

Hugs going around

Warm weather,

Fresh smell in the air

Trees get leaves,

The season of spring,

For our mother,

Mary

The Art Show!

By Jadyn Baptista

The art show day is in May. In the art show the 5th and 6th graders get to show all their best art work from the year. Parents and visitors come in and get to see the MCA students’ art and ask questions about it. The art show is almost an exhibit. The art show will be displayed throughout the school, so you can walk and walk and walk around the school. Most students choose 5 to 10 pieces of art work to show. These are art work that kids have been working there hardest and have put a lot of effort into it, and now it is time to let all their work shine. So if you are interested in art or you know someone at Mother Caroline Academy Education Center please come we would appreciate it. It is FREE what can you hold back about FREENESS! The art show starts in 2 months. Hope to see you there!

Valentines at MCA

By Rianna Cadogan

You know those days you get candy from your valentine or you just hang out with a friend. Well not our valentine’s day this year (2-14-12). We are going to have an “Ice cream social.” An “Ice cream social” is where we can make our own sundae with as much toppings as we want! There will be a variety of many toppings and ice cream. Our day I think is going to be pretty much awesome. These are some results of what students at MCA would think:

A fifth grader K.G said- she thinks it is going to be fun, tasty and really social. After the social she thought this she thought it was worth two thumbs up.

My thoughts- I think it was really fun it was just like lunch except with ice cream with a lot of toppings except we did not have all the good ones though. We had chocolate, vanilla and fudge swirl ice cream. We had hot fudge, M&M’s, Hershey kisses, caramel sauce and Oreo cookies.

A fifth grader N.O- she thought it was going to be boring but it turned out pretty good. The way it sounded had been boring but when it happened it got better then she expected even I expected it to be boring.

That is the Valentine’s at MCA I hope yours was fun and sweet as mine.
