Walt Disney

Savannah

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. Walt was one of five children out of four boys and a girl. After he was born he and his family moved to a different place and he spent most of his time there. The place they moved to was Marceline, Missouri. Walt had very early interests in art; he would often sell drawings to neighbors to make extra money. He pursued his art career, by studying art and photography by going to McKinley High School in Chicago.
Walt began to love, and appreciate nature and wildlife, and family and community, which were a large part of agrarian living. Though his father could be quite stern, and often there was little money, Walt was encouraged by his mother, and older brother, Roy to pursue his talents.
Later on in life he wanted to attempt the military service, but they rejected him because he was under the age of sixteen years old at that time. So since the military rejected him he decided to join the Red Cross and he sent across the sea to France, which is where he spent a year driving an ambulance and chauffeuring Red Cross officials. His ambulance was covered from stem to stern, not with stock camouflage, but with Disney cartoons. Once he returned from France he began to start a career in commercial art. He decided he wanted to start a company called Laugh-O-Grams, which fell bankrupt. So after that Walt Disney took his suitcase and twenty dollars and headed to Hollywood to start all over. And while he was there he made a success of his Alice Comedies and became a Hollywood figure. {What a surprise} On July13, 1925, Walt married one of his first employees, Lillian Bounds, in Lewiston, Idaho. Later on they would be blessed with two daughters, Diane and Sharon. Walt Disney's dream of a clean, and organized amusement park, came true, as Disneyland Park opened in 1955. Walt also became a television pioneer, Disney began television production in 1954, and was among the first to present full-color programming with his Wonderful World of Color in 1961.
Walt Disney is a legend; a folk hero of the 20th century. His worldwide popularity was based upon the ideals which his name represents: imagination, creation, and self-made success in the American tradition. He brought us closer to the future, while telling us of the past, it is certain, that there will never be such as great a man, as Walt Disney.
Now here are some Quotes from the man who brought you Disney:

-
"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality."
-

Anne Hutchinson's Way

Desiree

Over the weekend I read a book called Anne Hutchinsons Way which really stood out to me in many ways. This book was so inspiring to stand up for what you believe in because this lady, Anne Hutchinson, wanted to practice her religion freely so she left England to go to the Boston Colony where she could do so. She had 12 kids and taught them well. When they arrived in Boston their older son had built a house for them to live in, But every time they went to church Anne simply hated the way the minister talked about his beliefs in God which were only about the things god does to punish us for our sins and other non-sense that didn’t explain why god loves us and who he really is. So Anne started to preach in her homes to people who wanted to listen and to also teach her kids the right meaning of god, But when the government started to recognize how much power the little lady was bringing upon herself they ordered her to stop and summoned her to court. She disagreed to stop her preaching and said during court that she was only teaching her kids what was right and if others wanted to listen they could, But she was still punished and sent to a house across a river and the house was locked and she had to stay there for a year. While she was away her husband went to another place and built a house just for there family.
I wanted to write about this book because history is so interesting because back when Anne was alive she wasn’t famous, but now after all these years she is finally famous because she never gave up for what she believed in. I think this is a good lesson to share with the ones who haven’t heard about her and this book. I recommend you guys to read it if you could and enjoy it like I did.

Information on Osama bin Laden

Yazmily Crouse

Osama bin Laden was using his wife as a human shield and she got shot in her leg and he got shot twice in his chest and in his head. Osama Bin Laden had more than two wives and more than 20 kids. There were two men there watching Osama Bin Laden and they got shot as well.
He had a flash drive and he would save his emails and give to this man and he would bring the flash drive to the people that he wanted the message to have. He did this for about 9 to 10 years because if he had sent the email from his computer the army would track him down and they would get him.
He had T.V and he would watch himself on the T.V. He had 10 cell phones, 100 flash drives, and 10 computers. The army moved the kids aside so they would not get hurt, and the kids were so scared. Osama Bin Laden had no internet.
This week the Pakistani people bombed and 80 people were injured. They said that they would do anything to try to hurt Americans for killing Osama Bin Laden.
