Fashion Corner

by Deja

Are you tired of the boring uniform or the same old, same old? Well now all you have to do is accessorize, that’s right. You want to know why it’s so easy to do. Well… black and white go with everything, and you have black shoes on. Don’t forget to stay warm when it storms. So just throw on a pair of winter boots and you look stylish! And when there’s a breeze from the seas, cover them knees, wear colorful stockings or long socks that make you stand out and that make you who you are, and then you’ll look hip. And when those new style senses kick in, just feel free to be creative. And for activities, be breezy!

What will you be for Halloween?

Movie and Book Corner

By Desiree

My article is about books and movies. I interviewed two people from each grade to see what they all think about movies and books, and if they like to watch movies more than read. Or what kind of movies and books they like and see how they are different than each other or are the same. Get ready to find out my discoveries! This will also include different books you could pick from that you should read.

Some of the interview questions were what’s your favorite book? How did you like it? who’s your favorite character? why do you like him/her? what other books do you want to read? Also who showed you this book? what’s the book about? does it remind you of anything in your life? what’s your favorite part of the book? and what other books are you interested in?

One girl named Amy said her favorite book was Absolutely Normal Chaos. She said it was good, awesome, and interesting. Her favorite character was Maggie because she thinks she was a cool girl and that she sound interesting and fun. The teacher also showed her this book. And the book is about this girl named Mary Lou is writing in her journal about what she did over the summer. This book also reminds her of chaos. Her favorite part was when the family was talking to each other. The other book she liked was Number The Stars. And last but not least her favorite movie is School Girls.

Even though you might not like reading, keep in touch because there are good books such as Twilight, Harry Potter, and Doll House Murders next!

Ask Aubrey Advice Column

Our wise answer woman answers questions from real kids!

Question: My little sister keeps taking my clothes and wearing them. I have been sick and tired of her ruining my life. What should I do?

Answer:
Well I think that you should try to get even with her. If she takes your clothes, then you can take hers and hide them somewhere. If she gets mad then tell her she deserves it.

Question: There is this really cute boy that I like, but I don’t think he likes me back. What should I do?

Answer: Try to flirt but not too much. Make small talk with him. See how he talks to you, if he makes a lot of eye contact when talking, it is a good sign. If he keeps looking off, he has other things on his mind.

After-School Activities

by Yaraluz

At MCA we all participate in after-school activities on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I wanted to see how kids are enjoying their activities, and find out what they think of them. Its important to know what people think of their activities so they can be improved or kept the same if people like them. Janaiya says that her activities are “really fun and interesting”. Also Empress says that her activities are “good” and Savannah says her activities are “fun.” Chastity “likes her activities and that they’re really fun”. Some activities that some kids have are International club, tennis, walking, Chorus, digital photography, Book and poetry club. Also some people have ultimate Frisbee, and soccer. Chastity is learning how to “play the games”. Empress is learning “stuff about technology”. Janiyah is learning how “to express herself” and Savannah is learning “how to kick the ball.” Some people’s favorite activities are ”tennis, chorus, and soccer and some people want knitting”. Some people like “when they play tennis, singing, and running around”.
